Jobs

Just like in cruel reality, at counted_stars you unfortunately need 'the skills' to pay 'the bills'. Whether it be serving the Jedi Order or serving synthsteak at the diner, there is a variety of occupations to be had in the Star Wars universe. The list below is comprised of a few suggestions, and feel free to create a job for your character outside of it!

The Jedi Order

-Historian

Given the duty of protecting the Jedi way of history and culture, the historian is in charge of the Order's archives, maps, and holocrons. A very distinguished position for the more academically disposed character.

-Guardian

Relying mainly on lightsaber combat, the Jedi Guardian is a soldier, a fighter, but above all a protector. Their way of the Force doesn't rely heavily on philosophy, but on action and feeling.

-Consular

To juxtapose the Guardian, the Jedi Consular contemplates heavily on the mysteries of the Force and the workings of the universe. Typically, a Consular is gifted with using Force powers, such as push, healing, persuade and telekinesis.
-Sentinel

A mixture between Consular and Guardian, the Jedi Sentinel focuses on the practical usage of the Force. Typically they are skilled with computers, security systems, droids, and repair.

The Sith

-Dark Jedi

A Jedi, but one who follows the teachings of the Sith and is free of the sense of duty and obligation that the Jedi Order holds. Through victory, their chains are broken.

-Assassin

Force sensitives who are not fully trained in the Jedi ways, the Sith assassins are tools used by the Dark Jedi to kill their counterparts, and have been given special training in how to detect and hunt Force users.

The Military

The military class comprises both the Republic and Sith navys and holds standard positions on either side.

Civilian

As there are countless of possibilities for the civilian employment, here are but a few suggestions:

-Bartender

Serves drinks at the local Cantina, or pub. Bartending may seem like a mundane position, but in a universe rife with thugs and alcoholics, things are never far from interesting.

-Merchant/Dealers

Typically dealing (hurhur) with weapons, droids, or other essential supplies, the merchant is an entrepreneur, using saavy and street smarts to make the sale.

-Swoop Racing

Most planet's chief source of entertainment, swoop racers have to be fast, evasive, and above all, a damn good show. Swoop racing is tooooootally not the same thing as pod racing. Totally not.

Money is also to be had with gambling in relation to who wins the race...or who survives it.

-Bounty Hunter

The bounty hunter is a freelance worker who will find or kill for the correct price. Typically bounties are posted by crime bosses, but the Republic military also has more legitimate jobs for those wanting to stay on the law's good side. They just pay less.

-Pilots

-Commercial pilots are always in high demand in this galaxy, especially since flying on any military ship is likely going to end with you getting shot down in it.

-Dancers

Always popular, dancers are essential for decoration to any crime lord pit, seedy bar, or oddly enough, a senate politician's home.

-Criminals

Not exactly a job per se...but economical opportunity is always to be had when working for one of the two main crime lords in the galaxy -- Vogga or Goto.

-Smuggler

Getting the goods to the right place at the right time. Just don't ask questions, keep your head down, shoot first, and you'll be fine.

Outworlder-Created Businesses

-Fidelius

A successful business created by Lily Evans that creates Force-enhanced ornaments for others to purchase. Currently hiring.

-Regina Nocis

A successful tattoo parlor run by Catty Turner and Jack. Currently hiring.

-Calibrations

A weapons shop run by Garrus Vakarian and Thane Krios. Deals mostly in guns. Currently hiring.
