In case you missed it, it's been a busy couple of weeks. The Corner Laughers / Agony Aunts played 3 time slots at International Pop Overthrow San Francsico, one as a last minute fill-in. Closing night was so packed that people could barely move, which was kind of panic-inducing, but kind of awesome. I've never seen so many people get excited about ( Read more... )

I like your new regimen! Good for you. :)

Congrats on the IPO shows! Yay!!

Now I want to be able to get a CL station on Pandora. Have you applied? I was reading the submission guidelines and they seem like jumping thru a lot of hoops. Ugh. http://blog.pandora.com/faq/contents/31.html

I have not applied, but it looks like we can meet all of those qualifications. Do you want to do it?

Angela told me every day for a year that I was hell of fat. so, I hauled off and lost 8 pounds. Here is what I did.

1. Eat less calories than I burn.

I eat whatever I want. Mostly crap. Buttloads of diet soda (it does NOT make you fat, FYI everyone). I just count calories and stop when I hit my limit (1600). That's that. Just like magic. Oh, and I never exercise for even one minute. And also I ignore rule #1 Friday night through Sunday.

When it comes down to it, weight loss is a very simple thing, and Mr. Rhoades has it nailed. (Though some -- not me -- would quibble with his use of "less" instead of "fewer.")

That is, quite simply, all you need to do -- all you CAN do, outside of surgery or amputation. Eat less than you use. But that won't sell a lot of books or videos or exercise equipment

Of course. Everyone knows this and no one disputes it. It's easy to say, the problem is how do you force yourself to do it? Humans are evolved for running through the jungles and working in the fields in order to obtain food. We don't get to do much of that anymore, yet food is only getting more delicious and available. It's inevitable that most of us first-worlders are not going to be able to burn more than we eat without instituting strict plans and rules.
