Vulture Trip Day 2

*We arrived at Kern River Preserve in time to see the vultures leave their roosts. We followed them into the desert where they gathered in huge kettles, an amazing sight. We saw about 200 vultures; not as many as we did in 2006 but better than 2007.

*In the afternoon we drove out to Bodfish to visit a ghost town from the 1800s.

By the way, is that a REAL ghost town? It almost looks like it was built to look like a ghost town.

The buildings and artifacts are authentic from the 1800s, but they were all moved from other sites and assembled into a ghost town.
