As usual, I spent my Labor Day weekend doing labor. Stupid fiscal year. I'm just about caught up now though. We did manage a few non-labor related things - saw "Genevieve" at the old time movies, had the in-laws over to watch the wedding videos and slide shows, recorded 2 drum/bass/ukulele/piano tracks at the studio, ate leftover wedding cake, ( Read more... )

my practical mother bought me a waterproof/fireproof safe for my birthday. it was a weird gift, but i can see the practicality in it. now i can store my autographed Myron Floren card safely!

I can add to your insanity. My father hords pennies made before 1981, because they are pure copper and he says that if the end of the world comes he can use them to barter with because copper can be melted to to make wire to conduct electricity or build your own generator. I wish I was kidding about this, but I am not...

Oh, don't worry, I've got that taken care of. I have a whole stockroom of copper gaskets here at work that I will be melting down.

ahh yes, but do you have a large stash of camping supplies, like extra propane tanks, just in case you have to live like a mountain man for awhile?
