We have that book at work, and many people who believe that they have been publicly shamed in one way or another but maybe not so much by social media

I too miss the old days of journalling. I still remember setting up my first online journal at Blurty and chatting with funny and kind people. Now it's just outrage culture and virtue signalling and being quick to point fingers and rip shreds off people. So tired of all that crap.

I miss long-form internet communication like this. Everything now (even FB which doesn't have a limit that I know of) seems to be bite-sized shouts into the void and everyone seems like they have to "win" with everything they post.

That Jon Ronson book is fab. I won some signed Jon Ronson books last year. I didn't remember entering the competition and thought a congratulatory email I got was a scam at first!
