People close to Guy will probably notice that he's much less friendly and talkative though, even somewhat snappish.]

[In walks a familiar blonde. After all, before the blitz of surprise guests from home, she had promised to lend a hand in the bar. Buffy arrives sheepishly, like a truant finally owning up to their own absence.

Initially, she's too self-absorbed to even begin to notice anyone else's mood. Especially since hers is so uncommonly good.]

Afternoon, Guy.

[He glances up and offers a half-smile.] Miss Summers, hello. Feeling up to working today?

That's the plan, Stan. [She chucks her light, spring jacket over a barstool and rolls her shoulders back.]

You know, it'll be interesting to be on this side of the whole bar thing. Normally I'm--[on the other side, threatening the barkeeps with violence until they tell her what she wants to know]--I'm...no where near bars. Ever.

Well, it's nothing too drastic to get used to, at any rate. [He motions her back behind, setting up a few glasses.] So what do you know how to mix thus far?

[Hey grumpy Guy, have a grumpy housemate- the only housemate you've got left, at that. He's got a serious lack of replica in his head right now, and he's looking to fill it with alcohol to see if that helps any. (His expectations are low, but that's nothing unusual.) First, though, he's going to linger in the doorway to scan the place to make sure it's as empty as possible. He's not in the mood for rowdy company. At all.]

[Asch managed to catch Guy in a lull, which is fortunate for them both. Guy's just cleaning up the few glasses that had become dirtied and wiping down the bar counter.]

[Thank god for small miracles. Asch finds the bar situation tolerable, so he heads further in and plops himself down at the bar, head bowed. His fingers drum the table. ALCOHOL REQUIRED PLZ.]

[Guy obligingly sets a glass of some sturdy stuff in front of his patron before returning to his work. The action itself isn't made with the intention of being cold, but probably came off like that anyway.]

[ Meryl's right behind the bar with him. She's pretty distracted herself, right now, just washing glasses and trying to keep focused. ]

[Heartache for two, huh?

Guy's so upset he doesn't even notice bumping into her a couple times, just mumbling an apology and skirting by without so much as a twitch.]

[ She can't help but find that a little weird... the 4th time he does it, she turns to him. ]

Guy, what's wrong?

Oh- sorry, Meryl. [Guy makes a conscious effort to give her more space now.] I'm a little distracted.

[And Guy is a bartender! As usual. Still, have a charming smile when you approach the bar.] What can I get for you?

I'm not sure. You choose something, please.

All right. [He'll start her out with something easy, that doesn't absolutely reek with alcohol. He's not sure what her preferences are, after all.]

[Jade's well-aware of what happened, Guy, so he's making a stop himself in, to check on you. Even he's not totally heartless.]

The usual, barkeep.

As you wish. [And Guy prepares just that, sliding it over to Jade after a moment. Look, he's the perfect picture of cheer and good health, what's there to check up on?]

Ah, thank you. [He grabs the glass with ease, and takes a sip. Please, Guy. You don't fool him for a second.]
