I have to agree !
I saw it twice already, and I must admit they did a pretty good job !
Too bad for the whole "alternate reality"-thing though. It makes it kind of lose touch with the rest of the Star Trek story line. But other than that, it was pretty awesome.

The time travel thing left open the glaring plot hole, to reverse the alternate timeline just stop the upcoming disaster, thus removing the villain's reason for revenge. Star Trek needs to avoid time travel.

I bought that, I guess mainly because it was such a fun movie otherwise that I was willing to forgive one blatantly-overused Star Trek trope in an otherwise well-put-together flick. Besides, it's Trek; did you really expect them to completely leave behind their past? Frickin'

I just wanted more Scotty. Pegg is far too good to limit to just 20 minutes of screen time. But Urban nailed McCoy. Stole every scene he was in.
