I'm a dork and can't remember exactly where this sculpture is... somewhere near Carrowkeel, I think. Scratch that - I have the power of teh internets! This is on the N4 outside of Boyle, County Roscommon.
Maybe I just have a thing about oversize skeletal wraith-looking things with weapons.
That tomb picture is also spooky. I immediately think about the barrow-downs in JRR Tolkien, where they got pulled down into one of those by the ghost of the ancient king buried there, and when they escaped it was out from the grey rock into the sunlight.
