I was surprised to see the new Talib Kweli (in a good way). Do you like his old stuff?

yeah, he'd always had songs i liked, but i had always thought he was like, not quite as good as mos def/pharaoahe monch/common/etc. but mannnn he stepped it up a notch on this album. defintely one of my new favorite rappers

i didn't like it as much as the one he put out last year, but it has some really good songs. do you like yeasayer or doveman? those are both super good 07 albums that might've made my list if i'd have started listening to them earlier...

i thought neon bible came out in 06? but maybe i'm whacky in head.

secondly good to see some dance rock and hip hop on that list i never think of stuff like that :/

it came out in 07, it just leaked early, like shins and of montreal and other things...
yeah, i really started liking dance/house/techno, etc. a lot more this year, i ahdn't really given it a fair shake before. Justice, the field, and pantha du prince all blew my mind.

it could've gone either way. i've relistened and re-relistened to all of my top albums the last couple weeks and i'm sort of uncertain about the reminder-neon bible-in rainbows order, they are all goooooooooood but all also have their weaknesses. I think in the end i just listened to feist a lot more and i felt like she wasn't necessarily getting props from a lot of other year end lists so that bumped her up.
