i took it before random people showed up and the culture of photography in the family is that taking pictures of anything and everything is ok. my FIL took a picture of it too. i did ask first though.

I was surprised at all the not sobbing pictures. I am so touched that your/his family is the kind that celebrates moving on to no more pain.I just can't be that strong. We had an uncle take pictures of my great grandmother when she died and we all thought it was pretty morbid just because I don't want that to be my last memory burned in my head, but I truly think you did a tasteful job with it.

there was really minimal crying - the eulogies were the saddest thing. it's really difficult to explain, but she was gone a long time ago so everyone is glad that she's finally at peace.

I understand that. We're going through similar with my mother-in-law. Very little of her is still there.

Yeah, there's no way to deliver a completely happy eulogy :/ I totally understand, and I am glad you all can look at it that way, she is finally at peace.
