today, for anyone who understands, IRAF told me, in an apparent error message:
     Bob's your uncle
     then it bombed out of the radial plotting package i was using. strange?

not at all. I wouldn't expect less of iraf. Amusing but absolutely normal.

I hear that in order to get more amusing and frustratingly cryptic error messages you should use APES, an even less frequently used off-shoot of IRAF
