The Pride of Your Heart Part 6

Dean sat beside Sam’s bed, one hand on his brother’s arm, the other resting on his forehead, occasionally smoothing his hair, or brow, or pressing lightly against his cheek. Looking back, Cas was amazed how quickly his training had taken over-and his brother’s. Michael and Cas had never worked together in the same Emergency Room, but they had ( Read more... )

LOL! All through this, I was screaming for Sam to be able tell them that he didn't do this to himself; for someone to realize that HE was the victim and not just a tragic relaspe. It broke my heart that Dean even thinks he did it to himself; that Sam let himself be talked into using again by Lou, of all people. I fear, the poor kid will never have any credibility, among even the people who love him most, because all they see first, when they look at him, is an addict. And that he is weak. It is sad, that in place of compassion he was received with skepticism and that the outcry for justice was not immediate but upon the influence of it being realized there had been a paralytic involved. He would have been murdered but written off as a self inflicted OD. Sniff, sniff. Poor kiddo ( ... )

Thank you! I should say DEAN never doubted Sam: only Cas did. Dean saw Lou and he knows this was not Sam's fault. Sam will struggle with his credibility, but, as a sister of an addict, that's a legit struggle, and one he will understand. And we will understand more about Dean's restraint. He is walking a fine line, that he understands, where he has Sam on one side and Cas (and Cas's family) on the other. This installment has always been, to me, the time to begin several new character arcs and also challenge the existing ones. So hopefully everyone enjoys and stays with me. :)

Yeah! Glad you like!

As for Naomi...you're pretty much right on. She doesn't know what she wants. Now that her husband is gone, she's going to have to revist her own parenting style. Like Show!Naomi, she thinks she's doing the right thing, and not really seeing the big picture of her actions, or considering how she is driving Cas crazy. As the fallout continues, she's going to have to start reevaluating her priorities.

Sam is feeling pretty guilty...we'll get to him more in the next chap :)

I think I'm the only one on Earth who enjoyed "Man's Best Friend," mainly because 1) Portia and James were both crazy hot 2) I always wanted them to do Familiars 3) Gay cat guy 4) BDSM subtext.

Ralph's turning out to be more evil than Lou. I didn't plan it that way. We'll have to see where he goes.

There will be some media mentions, but not in this installment...I want do to some art to go with it :)

Thank you!!!! <3

I continue to love this series. The way you've transferred so much of SPN canon into a mundane environment, and the characterisations are all still spot on, is just sensational. Looking forward to seeing how this latest drama plays out! :)

I'm going to be late for work and it's ALL your fault! LOL I was mesmerized by all of the twists and turns of this chapter. I'm so proud of Cas for taking on Ralph and Michael still trying to save his family even while bringing Lou down. Poor Sam, it seems he keeps going through withdrawal because the bad guys keep poisoning him. You need to give him a break! I loved where Dean and Cas have a quite moment just to support each other and Dean giving Cas a good talking to about trying to keep him and Sam safe. The Winchester's do not run away and hide. They stand firm and support family and Cas should know that by now. Now I'm really late for work but please don't leave us hanging for too long. This story has become Shakespearean in nature with all of the evil machinations and I'm loving every moment of it!

Heehee! Glad you liked!

I will say that this is the last time I plan on poisoning Sammy. This installment will start several new arcs--including one for him. I may revisit times during his active additions, but going forward, our boy's going to be drug-free :)

As for Naomi...you're pretty much right on. She doesn't know what she wants. Now that her husband is gone, she's going to have to revist her own parenting style. Glad you're enjoying! Hopefully I"ll finish the next chapter soon. :)
