If RT has him become human at the end, that's actually the way I most thought she'd do it. A while ago during the dragon scaled tessaiga stuff I even thought there was some foreshadowing for it (when he used the attack his wounds healed at a far slower pace, to the point that Kagome distinctly notes it, so you can imagine what excess use of it could do).
Yeah I've never really seen how the sengoku jidai would change Kagome's appearance explored either, and I was excited to do so. Kagome's appearance has changed in the manga although that's probably not why (just evolving art styles), she looks much older and her hair is a bit less... perfect. I much prefer her later appearance and in my mind she's much more beautiful after her year in sengoku jidai (not that she wasn't completely lovely in the first place). :)
You're welcome. Sorry for the rambling. XD

Kagome is so real in this, as she comes to realize her changes and her pitying feelings for InuYasha's situation. And InuYasha is wonderful- so rich in his unburdened emotion that he's just so thankful that they're alive and together. His awareness of Kagome is so prevalent here, both in noticing her behavior towards him and her "hurting more on his behalf," which is something she's rather prone to.
This line really caught me, "For the first time, she’d felt the weight of the bow. Heavy, and her shoulder and hand were distinctly stiff and painful." The time at which it happens and the way it's described are just so powerful.
Also, InuYasha asking Kagome "Do you want to be normal?" was great. I love how in this he's the one comforting her for a change, and he's so sweet about it.
Overall, the narrative and the dialogue are both amazing. And it really gave me ( ... )
