Writer's Block: Doctor Who?

I wanted Bill Nighy the most. I think he would have seemed some strange combination of John Pertwee and Tom Baker, and that would have been brilliant. He has a very "I could possibly be an alien, but don't worry about it" quality.

Or Paul McGann! Actually on the TV show!

Bill would have been awesome. Or Hugh Laurie. But Bill is strange enough.
