Yay! I am looking forward to the Hogwarts games but it has been awhile since I've read the Harry Potter series so I hope I can keep up.

It's okay. Since they're set in 1984, as long as you know what the houses are, you're fine.

(Secret: I started running Hogwarts games before I finished reading the books. I'm FINALLY done with them. :) )
