So I did "add to library" everything in the Music folder, and that seems to have brought all the music back, at least (though now all with the "date added" of today, which is mildly annoying, but I can cope). What d'you spose would happen if I do the same with the previous version of library? (I'm scared I will lose all tunes I added since Oct...don't know if this would contain the playlists or not.)

Last time I experienced Computer Crash of Doom, I recreated my whole iTunes library bit by bit, importing music from the music folder. Good to know there may be an easier way.
If there is an easier way, I would certainly not recommend wasting spending time recreating the damn thing piece by piece. If need be though, I can attest to its slow effectiveness.
