Remember that phenomenon you mentioned in your LJ in West Texas about the colossal spiderweb? My house and backyard are becoming the Kingdom of the Spiders lately as well. Our patio has two huge webs dominating it and there was another in the corner of my yard for some time that seems to have been done away with due to the storms we had here

They seem to be everywhere this summer! I've got tons of them around. They aren't poisonous, at least that is what most of the reports say, but they are pretty, and make very big sticky webs.
I don't think the ones around here are exactly the same as the one in that photo, but they are obviously closely related.
I call mine crab spiders, because, well, they look like crabs. My neighbors call them lady bug spiders.
They are fun to watch! Enjoy it!
