I am proposing *checks clock* TODAY!!!! So yah.. Everyone should know.. Whee!
I need an Irvine icon... hrm....
I am anxious and cannot sleep. Slightly jittery as well, for some reason. Maybe I should just lay down and try to sleep anyway. Bah.. What to do?

Actually, this is good advice. People with insomnia tend to get into a cycle of worrying about not being able to sleep, and this keeps the mind awake. Forcing it to concentrate on pleasant subjects, however, involved calmer chemicals. So accept that you are not asleep right now, and choose to use the time to go over the things in your life that are good and right. Dwell on pleasant plans (don't worry about the details of acheiving them right now!) allowing your thoughts to form concrete images of what you are striving for. Picture yourself in your plans having a good time, being confident, getting the job, whatever. Positive imagery allows the mind to travel along the same neuro-paths that REM dreaming does, if I recall an article I read correctly. And even if you aren't asleep, your body is relaxed and not full of stress hormones. Give it a shot next time!
