I just had a big ol' fight with my parents about college. Or at least, it seemed that way to me. My mom gave me the impression on the phone (although she vehemently denies it now) that my dad was being influenced by my Uncle Rob into thinking spending money on a degree in classics would be a waste of money. I stopped showing my dad my college addmissions essays when he tried to proofread them for me.

You should come to Purdue, you'll get in for really cheap since your national merit and it'll be great!

I don't think I'd have a problem with my dad proofreading anything, but when it gets to him telling me what to major in, there I get a bit touchy.

I'll have to look at Purdue. I wasn't really considering it until you decided to go there and they sent me a booklet, but they offer my majors of choice and I could get in pretty cheaply. Plus, my cousin went there, so I'd have something to talk to him about. I'm doing a tour of college campuses this summer; I'll have to visit there.
