I adore Sugar Rush, it's just fabulous. The first time I watched it, I got through all 20 or so episodes in a weekend. Who'd have thought that Julie Burchill could be involved with something that doesn'tt suck?
You're tempted to give Gossip Girl a go? I'm sort of surprised. I love it - it's all sorts of guilty fun and Blair and Chuck especially are so entertaining. Just hilarious. I suspect it might rather annoy you, but I'd be interested to hear what you think.
Oh, and I really want a nice shiny copy of Hellcats, so looking forward to the release (even if I really couldn't run it for either my groups up here) :)
Yup, me too. Sugar Rush had me utterly addicted, would have watched it in one go if I'd had the time!
Mind you, I found the second season a bit of a disapointment, still very good, but not as good as the first. Kim seems so confident even verging on arrogant and gets far more bitchy. I prefered her being confused and frustrated.
I think mainly I prefered season 1 as it was about Kim trying to figure out who she was. Season 2 is about gay relationships rather than self discovery and so wasn't quite as good, but still excellent.
Hellcats due for December, all systems still looking good!
Well, I watched episode 1. I watched it and episode 1 of sugar rush. Sugar Rush practically forced me to watch the next episode. Found that I wanted to see more Gossip Girl but not 'must see now'.
I suspect what made Gossip Girl tricky was that I wanted to punch the self important, arrogant, over-privilaged, vile characters in the face repeatedly. The two main ones gradually gained my empathy, but it took an episode. If I started punching Blair or the rapist guy I don't think I could have stopped! Horrible, horrible people.
By the two main characters, I assume you mean Dan and Serena? I like Serena a lot, she's radiantly nice without being annoying. Dan, on the other hand, I find self righteous and rather dull. Of the others:- Nate is pretty but boring. Vanessa: yawn. Eric doesn't get much screen time, but he's fun: nice but also funny and rather bitchy. Chuck and Blair are horrible. And I love them so much. They're hilarious and hugely entertaining. Chuck's every line is comedy gold (I know he's not supposed to be funny, but he is) and, oh, Blair ♥. Shallow, bitchy, brittle, insecure, but so much fun. She, Chuck and Serena make the show for me. The rest are just window dressing.
I'm up episode 4 now, but no sign of a Vanessa, not sure I've met Eric yet. Nate is just a dull muppet, but I'm warming to him in the same way I warmed to the idiocy of Jason Stackhouse in True Blood

Still, we'll see what happens in episode 2!
