"It's not a contest," Chandra laughs as Elizabeth stares at her expectantly.

"Not a contest! Not a contest," she repeats incredulously. "Girl, everything in life is, and if it's not it's no fun!"

"You are so weird," she comments, smirking as she continues to sort through paperwork, putting it into piles for the higher ups to read through and sign. "But alright, I'll indulge you. Who is this fine specimen?"

"Vic," Elizabeth says dreamily. "You know, that--"

"That grumpy editor from the fourth floor who nitpicks all of our work to the point of marking it all with red pen whenever he thinks we've done something wrong?" She's thrown by her friend's apparent interest in the man, swallowing down further remarks when she sees the look on Elizabeth's face. But secretly all she can think upon comparing Vic to sweet, handsome Cameron is that there's absolutely no question who wins this so-called contest. Nonetheless, it's not worth hurting Liz over so she keeps her mouth shut and just smiles at the girl. "So what happened?"

As Elizabeth explains that Vic had unexpectedly saved her from a journalist in the process of trying to push her mistake off on anyone in the vicinity just to not get punished for almost losing a client due to libelist comments made in the article about to be printed, Chandra half-listens and half-dwells on the latest date she'd had with Cameron, going to a club and dancing for hours, warm and snug in his arms when slow songs picked up and laughing happily as he'd twirled her around during the faster ones. It had been magical and amazing, and she thinks she could see a real future with him. "... So then, once that shrew of a woman was gone, I just... turned to him and asked him out on a date. There was just something, I've never noticed his eyes before, they're so blue and intense, and he really is handsome when you really look at him. So, yeah..." She flounders for a bit, realizing that Elizabeth is barely listening, and rolls her eyes, snapping her fingers in front of the other woman's face.

"Huh? Oh, sorry," she blinks, realizing that Elizabeth is done talking and wants her opinion. "That sounds incredible, I never thought he would ever pay attention to any of us to actually do such a thing... but I'm glad he did, for your sake." She's still trying to keep her hands busy with the various stacks of papers, desperate to not lose herself in the ghost of Cameron's warm fingers against her skin, but it's a fighting battle so she puts them down and smiles at Elizabeth. "Instead of treating this like a competition, how about we both be happy for each other and leave it at that?"

Elizabeth stares at her for a moment. "Maybe we can have a double date someday," she suggests.

Chandra laughs and reaches out, hugging her. "Yeah, maybe," she says, shrugging slightly. Who knows... I may be ridiculously in love enough to agree to that at some point. She flushes at the thought before giggling into Elizabeth's shoulder, honestly happy for how well things are turning out for herself and her friend.
