Our initial thought was to encourage people to write about retired or older players, but you may interpret the theme in any way you choose, and you most certainly do not have to take it literally. Feel free to be creative! The theme is also optional

ooh, an intriguing question! I am not the lawyerly half of the mod team, but my understanding of the rules is: you must choose two players to be the focus of your story, but they do not have to be the romantic pairing (or the only romantic pairing) in your story. so, for example, if you wanted to write a story about two members of a menage a trois coping with the loss of their third to a different team, that would be perfectly fine; they are in a threesome, but the focus of the story is about the relationship between only two of them. or if you wanted to have a threesome scene in a fic which was primarily about a two-person pairing, that would also be fine. or even if you just wanted to write about the relationship between two members of a stable threesome, for that matter; my understanding is that they're rarely perfect triangles. ;) does that make sense? you can write a threesome, but you have to pick two of them to be the focus of the fic

words cannot describe our excitement at the thought of late-90s R&B songfic! :D that said, I'm a little confused by your signup? Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo were never teammates at Real Madrid. Figo was long since gone to Inter when Cristiano transferred from Manchester. did you mean Original Ronaldo?
