Don't y'like it when weather gets creative? With rain bein' the usual thing raining s'pose that's how it got the name - isn't it nice to see nature try different things out now and again ( Read more... )

I don't think it has anything to do with nature.

I do a lot of foraging, but things grow well enough if you are willing to put the time and effort into them. My garden is doing well, and I'm used to living off what I grow.

Why not? Even the spirities can be nature. They're natural to this world, though, yes?

Nice enough weather in these summer-bits, then. Isn't gardening hard work? Chasin' off critters, and cleaning jelly bits from plants - an' what if an event wiped out everything? Or turned 'em into man-eating plants rather than man-edible ones?

Good point, if you look at it like that. That means this rain is also natural, doesn't it?

I won't say gardening is easy, but it's as satisfying as it is hard. There's nothing quite like caring for the good earth and having it care for you in return, and nothing tastes sweeter than the fruits of your own labor.

Anything that happens is natural enough.

...Wouldn't labor be awful sweaty, not sweet? An' I've never heard of earth caring for anything.

Ah, I think most people just grow their food, or raid stores and such. But I don't think any actually eats bugs. At least, nobody I know.

If everyone's raiding each others stores, does anyone get t'the eating bit? An' I never knew the city imported so many gardeners!

Well, more gardeners means more variety, right? So that means they can grow more stuff to eat, and those who aren't very good at growing things can help out in another way.

I hope they coordinate! Like what if everyone thought growin' carrots was pretty good, but it turned out no one liked carrots? They'd be miserable!

It's not bad. And they're edible.

There's growing shit, but I spend a lot of time scavenging.

If weather is going to send food, it's good that it's usable food, yes?

Scavenging is good! Scavenging and rummaging and pillaging.

Yeah. It would be stupid if we couldn't eat it.

Isn't pillaging taking shit that belongs to other people?

It'd be pretty sneaky! Maybe next time they'll send down plasticy things, jus' to trick.

Probably!
