Prayer is not healthcare. If a parent chooses to deny their child medicine in favor of prayer, they should be convicted of negligent homicide. This isn't a matter of freedom of religion: people should have leave to practice their religion as they see fit, except when such practice harms another person. I've seen studies that say that people who claim to have spent the entire night tossing and turning actually tend to have spent large portions of the night asleep. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do with my life before I went to college. This, I am led to believe, is not unusual. What was somewhat unusual was the fact that I had documentation in my hands from the Air Force telling me that they'd pay a large portion of my tuition via scholarship, but in order to qualify I'd have to declare my major ( Read more... )
