I'm not sure how I feel about people letting animals breed 'just to try it' and then turn around and have the animals neutered, after letting them know what they'll be missing out on.

According to the description on the vid, he was snipped after he started getting too violent with the jennets. Donkey sex *is* violent, of course, but apparently he was actually injuring the jennets -- to which I would say, yes, that's not a good jack to keep at stud.

Agreed, that's not genes you'd want to pass on in the first place. I'm just seeing more and more that people just want a foal or two from their stallion 'to remember him by', then go and have him gelded almost immediately after the fact, and that sickens me.
