If John McCain has never been to Spain....

...I guess that's understandable, since it seems he doesn't know what continent it's on.

One of his aides says he intended to imply he wouldn't meet with Spain's leader since Spain pulled troops from from Iraq. That's almost as egregiously stupid as not knowing where Spain is. In either case, he's either even more arrogant/isolationistic than Bush, or he's got some serious mental decline going on (which would explain why his advisers won't let him talk to the press anymore and the one time he did go on Scarborough recently - a very pro-Republican show - he accused them of being pro-Obama, etc while they sat there kind of stunned and finally one mentioned her brother works for him...).

Listening to the interview, I think it's pretty clear that he was simply very very confused and his adviser is full of BS. This reminds me of Reagan in the mid-80's as his Alzheimer's became worse and the press kind of covered up how random his answers were at times.

That's what genuinely scares me about the thought of him getting into office. I always like referring to him as a crazy old man, but it's really starting to seem like he's not all there anymore.
