Alicia's Year In Books

Dec 31, 2006 14:45

I read 83 books this year. It was supposed to be 84, but instead of finishing U2 By U2, I watched all three Indiana Jones movies today. (No one's more surprised than me that I didn't devour that book as soon as I bought it.)

Wanna see my list? With some notes? But without proper italics because I'm too lazy?

She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain )

What a great list of books! I am still trying to get through In Cold Blood but that's only because I don't have very much reading time.

6. The Undomestic Goddess - Sophie Kinsella
(Kinsella’s books are weird to me - I start out rolling my eyes, telling myself “I can’t believe you keep reading these.” And then by the middle to end, I start really enjoying them.)

I read this one while we were on vacation in Anchorage. I read it in about 3 days and while it wasn't the greatest lit I've ever read, it was light and did take me away from the horror of cramps for a while.

Anyway, I should make one of my resolutions to read more. Don't know how feasible that is, though. Maybe when Sophia is, oh, 18. ;-) (Just kidding - she just has to be older than she is now when she demands every bit of my attention.)

Happy New Year!

That's one of my joke responses to not wanting kids: but when am I going to find time to read?

Ha ha ... okay, it's not really a joke. ;-)

(I wasn’t expecting much from the book, but wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Loved it, couldn’t put it down, it was funny, and predictably, I bawled at the end.)

I did too. :)

I've probably read about 10 books this year. I don't think I can remember all of them though. :/

Earlier this year I tried to write down all the books I've ever read, but I couldn't remember all of them. (Shocking.) Although probably a lot of what I'm missing are stupid Harlequin romances or something from junior high.

Hah!

Well you know, and I also don't read as much as I'd like. I'm trying to finish U2 by U2, but it's just so LONG!

I think my problem with slogging through U2 by U2 is because it's physically uncomfortable to read! It's so damn big and heavy, it doesn't sit well on my lap when I'm on the couch! Plus, a lot of the pages are have a colored background, and I don't have great light at my couch at night, so it's hard to read. :-(
