I'm in Indianapolis! I drove out here yesterday to see Deathly Hallows with Casey. She had to go in to work for a few hours (alas) so now I'm just hanging out. Let's talk about Deathly Hallows.

For the previous six movies, I've gone in with high expectations (the trailers for HP movies are so damn good) but come out relatively disappointed. I'm aware that things have to be cut but I've always been surprised by what was cut, how much was cut, and - worst - what was added. For this final[-ish] film, I tried to curb my enthusiasm a bit, not get my hopes up.

I THINK STEVE KLOVES ACTUALLY READ THE BOOK THIS TIME. AND THERE WERE TRANSITIONS BETWEEN SCENES OMG.

Neville had ONE LINE and still managed to be a badass.

HUGE props to the actors who played Hermione!Hopkirk, Harry!Runcorn, and Ron!Cattermole. I looooooved that part.

That random dancing scene was random. It didn't look like Harry and Hermione at all; to me it looked like they caught Dan and Emma dancing and were like "Let's stick this in the movie!"

The Tale of the Three Brothers was GORGEOUSSSSSSSSSSSS.

OH GOD, RUPERT GRINT. You guys. You guys. I thought all three of them did a great job, better than usual, BUT RUPERT WAS STUPENDOUS. All the R/Hr stuff and all the anger and the fear and just EVERYTHING. The Silver Doe (my favorite chapter in probably my favorite book) was about as perfect as they could get it. I loved it.

I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I need to go see it again. And then I need it to be July. Hopefully in NYC. ;)
