Poor Middleman. I can imagine he's haunted by his dreams on a fairly regular basis. This is a perfect accompaniment to Palindrome Reversal Palindrome. I can just see him having some deep-seated confusion over the events of the story.

I second the "THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME" comment. I laughed at This is a dream, he thinks and is abruptly pulled from it. He remembers the score (what game were they playing?) was 36 to 12. He hopes Ida was winning. because I've had dreams like that, where it's just so weird and I think, this is a dream and it is.

I also love the way Wendy woke up. I think you captured their relationship just right in that one little scene.
