So my good friend Maria is all about popping her collar, and I think it looks stupid and we argue good-naturedly about it all the time. I was thinking about it the other day, though, and I realized something. There is a time when popping your collar is appropriate. HOWEVER, you have to meet all of the following criteria.
1. You must be a guy.
2. You must be wearing a man jacket or trench coat.
3. Said jacket/coat must be black.
4. You must be wearing a collared shirt underneath the jacket.
If all the above criteria are met, feel free to pop the collar of your jacket.

Exhibit D: Jim Halpert

Thanks for the reminder,

Psh, no, of course this wasn't an excuse to make a quick study-break picspam of hot guys. Hush.
ETA:
Giles can get away with wearing a sweater instead of a collared shirt but he's Giles so don't think about making it a habit. He's the exception to the rule.
