The way she waited so eagerly for Uther to tell her the truth was a little bit heartbreaking.

Oooh, okay, wow, this is why I love reading people's reviews - learning what people took out of a scene that I personally didn't see or didn't catch. See, I just thought she was being calculating there and trying to get him to admit it for future evil plans, I didn't even consider that she might want the truth for emotional reasons. Interesting!

It could just be my wishful thinking, wanting her to be more like that
Because I'm really not liking how she seems so emotionless this series

I have no idea what her look at the end of the scene was meant to be though. I actually said aloud "There goes her top class acting. I can totally understand what she's feeling right now! Such expression!"
But ah, I still love Katie. Even if her acting is severely sub par.

the thing with morgana and uther - one i still don't see how can uther be her father and she be morgause's sister since morgause's mother fled with her and the 'family bracelet' she handed morgana does come from her dad, in traditional mythology he's called gorlois.

Now, this is an anachronism, Morgana in the middle ages would never expect to inherit from Uther, in fact she would prefer not to be Uther's illegitimate child since illegitimate kids don't really have much power to grab, as daughter of an old friend and a knight she has more standing. So yeah, that has me puzzled.

Otherwise I did like this episode even if it was quite predictable that Merlin was just helping in history's path and not fighting against it XD

edit. and i totally agree with what you said about it being good to see the other layers that make the total of Morgana. And of course the boys. I always enjoy the shows that are not intended to be funny far more than those that are intended as so. ♥

Yeah - I was thinking that too. In The Revenger's Tragedy (a play we're studying at school) the bastard son has a real chip on his shoulder and everyone thinks he's worthless - and I'm pretty sure it's unlikely he'd inherit.

Agreed with everything you said too. And that's interesting about the mythology and the family bracelet thing.

Oh show
So silly ♥

But the show is not really medieval. It's fantasy. I mean, they wouldn't be eating sandwiches in the Middle Ages, either. Nor were there talking dragons.

"i don't even care if its leon"
Wait, that is brilliant!
BRB, imagining sexy scenes of sex and magic reveal

Actually.. although we all love Leon hardcore he would be probably in the top 5 people to tell on Merlin within minutes of finding out

HAHAHAH your winky jk made me LOLOL

HAHA reminded me of rayslady's recap in which she said

GWEN. THAT DRESS IS STILL NOT WORK APPROPRIATE. DO SOME LACES UP, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. PUT IT AWAY.

and

"HEY. HEY. STOP AMBUSHING ME WITH ARTHUR/GWEN YOU BASTARD SHOW PEOPLE. EVEN IF THAT HUG WAS KIND OF BIZARRELY AWKWARD AND ALL I WAS LOOKING AT WAS BRADLEY'S BUM."

LOLOLLLOL

I love your take on Morgana's character development! Especially what you say about her reaction vs. Morgause's. I thought Morgana was playing Uther for political power at first, too, but how much she did not care about that in the Morgause scene makes me think otherwise. She wants people to care about her more.

Thank you!
Yes! Ooh I'm so glad you agree! I was starting to think I was wishing these things to be there too much!
I hope they keep up with this kind of Morgana because her full-on evil is pretty irritating and less realistic than I'd like
I mean, at the end of the day this is Merlin, a family show, and most things like this have the "good vs evil" thing but it's nice to have a different moral to the story, another take on it, if you know what I mean :)
