It was Arrested Development

It may be because I'm sick, but when Michael started crying in the Arrested Development finale I just started sobbing. It's starting to feel more like this is the end for the show. Even though there's been talk of Showtime picking up the series, it really felt like the last episode. ( Arrested Development 3:10 - 3:13 )

Okay, I didn't read your "Arrested Development" stuff because I'm avoiding spoilers (still only watching season two...) but I need to know about the appearance of Richard Belzer as Professor Munch, the undercover detective! For the insanity sake of tommywestphall

Or maybe I've been mislead about this crossover?

Richard Belzer does indeed have a brief appearance as Professor Munch (an undercover detective) who's teaching a class on scrap book making. It's a "scrap booking sting" which the police are using to get Tobias (who takes the class) to give up Bluth family info.

Prof. Munch suggests these possible scrap book page ideas: My favourite birthday, foreign bank statements, and family secrets.

He also says: "Photocopies are not admissible as memories."

Hopefully that's not too spoilery but also helpful!! If you want I could transcribe the scene, it's not that long.

No, that's cool. Thanks. It's a bit of stretch to think Munch has come out to California for this undercover sting operation, but stranger things have happened in the tommywestphall universe!

Yeah, I think it's more of a fun tv reference than a crossover.

I'm very sorry that you're sick. It seems everyone is lately, which I realize doesn't make you feel any better.

But I just had to comment on something I hadn't realized: They replaced Arrested Development with Skating with Celebrities?!
What kind of totally screwed up world is this? If I want to see a car wreck I'll drive the interstate.

Thanks! It's kind of - weirdly - reassuring to know that other people are feeling crappy too (not that I wish sickness on people!!).

sigh, I know it's insane! Skating with Celebrities now airs the same time that the cancelled Kitchen Confidential and Arrested Development aired (Mondays 8pm-9pm).

If I want to see a car wreck I'll drive the interstate.

hee! Despite my loyalty and love for Arrested Development - and with a sick fascination - I checked out an episode of Skating with Celebrities. Unsurprisingly, not so good. It's very distressing that very few people watch well-done and smart shows like Arrested Development, yet people will watch something bad instead.

I know what you mean ... at least you know others are feeling your pain.

I kind of liked Kitchen Confidential, too, although it could have used more Xander -- ahem, Brenden. "Reality" shows, on the other hand, are a condiment smear on the face of humanity.
Hey, they canceled Angel, but The Biggest Loser is still -- um -- big. Explain that.

Oh yes!! There was definitely more Nicholas Brendon needed!! Although, as much as I enjoyed him in KC, I didn't feel it was the right role for him. I'm trying to be optimistic that he will be cast VERY SOON in a good comedic role that's perfect for him!

Hey, they canceled Angel, but The Biggest Loser is still -- um -- big. Explain that. The only reality show I'll watch is The Amazing Race, all the rest make me shudder. When good and intelligent shows like Angel or Arrested Development get cancelled I'm very tempted to say it's because most people are stupid. As satisfying as that can be to think, I don't really like that argument because it's intellectual snobbery ( ... )
