28ºC is considered a heat wave here - we are more comfortable with 21-23º and a light breeze. Today it was 33ºC!!!! Meep.

Is that the sea or a lake? It looks fab...sigh.

28 has been the highest - most days have been 23 - 25, with a breeze off the sea to cool things down. My friend lives across the city, away from the bay, and I think it's been a bit harder to take. 33 is way too hot! I hope things cool down for you.

The picture is of the sea - there are a number of small islands off the coast here, and the more well-off residents of our city often have cottages on them. And sometimes they invite the less well-off, such as yours truly, to enjoy them for a day or two!

That looks like a very good place to be!

A lot of my posts were about the weather. It's all about the human and the natural world and our struggle with the elements and it's very profound or sometimes zen or something.

Isn't that one of the fundamental struggles of literature? Man against himself, man against man, man against nature. Or in this case, woman against mild inconveniences :)

It's August first in Missouri and my aircon is *not on*.

Shocking! It's been a lovely summer all 'round, really. Especially compared to last year.

It really has! We just got a little rain, finally, but it's actually nice - greens up the lawns a bit, and a day or two of cool weather is refreshing. Last summer we had so many wildfires, it was scary. This one's not so bad so far.

Glad you're having a good summer too!
