Chapter Ten

Jared woke in Jensen’s bed. The room was still in semi-darkness, even though the clock beside him told Jared it should be much brighter. The thunder that had rattled through the night still sounded overhead, and he knew the day would be a dark one.

Sometime in the night they’d pulled the blankets up around them, and Jensen had ( Read more... )

I feel so much RAGE at Jared's own self-loathing. I don't think there are even words to describe it.

The fucked up wrongness of the so-called righteous. It burns my soul.

Currently, in Uganda; homosexuality is punishable by death. The world is a terrible place sometimes.

Yes; I wrote to my local member, I campaigned with Amnesty International, and I don't know what else to do about those Ugandan laws except to say that misogyny is the single greatest evil on the planet. And yes, misogyny is the at the core of homophobia, as weird as it seems; it is because men are doing teh utterly shameful, ignoble thing of *acting like women*. Anywhere hatred of homosexuality reigns you just *know* that hatred of women is rife too - oh, cue those states in the US with their vile anti-women laws regarding sex, abortion, contraception, childcare and so on. Take a bow, Kansas, Texas et al - oh, and the superstar, Oklahoma.

I feel so much sorrow for those poor kids in fundamentalist states anywhere, be they the US, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, whose heads get so filled with religious messages that are so damned cruel.

Here's a thought; love the divinity within yourself; love the divinity within each other. Be kind. The End.

As a 'lapsed' Catholic; I know all too well the wonders of misogyny in the 21st Century. Its something so insidious that people don't even recognize it and half the time its being perpetuated by WOMEN, so fighting against it immediately paints you as a femi-nazi or something ( ... )

Sorry for comment-spamming you, but I can't help it. It is driving me insane how Jared has been so 'well' conditioned to hate everything he is that he just can't get over himself.

It so plain to see that he and Jensen are both broken in so many ways, that they need each other to get through this, to get the kids through this. I really really hope they will find a way, together, that will fix them both in the end.

On that note, I think the last sentence of this section is just beautiful, metphorical, and just so sadly sweet in so many ways! *loves*
