Bikes, Hills and My Face (...and other news)

This weekend I'd planned on finishing my blind_go entry, but instead I managed to hurl myself face first into the pavement from my bike. And remembering how fast I was going down that steep hillside road, I consider myself lucky I managed to hurl myself away from the oncoming traffic. Because, otherwise...ugh. It's funny you mention that, heh...

My computer exploded once and for all, about five weeks back. As I hadn't backed it up for a year, most of my writing drafts and lots of snippets I'd written since then (not to mention the layer-ed versions of my fanart) have gone up with it. In fact, the only working draft I still have is the Ogata/Yeongha one - and that only because I'd posted it for you to look over before everything had gone down.

Thank you so much for your offer - it really means a lot, especially now. I definitely am not giving up - that, I think, would be irresponsible. It will take me longer to reconstruct everything, however. And that is made more difficult by the backlog of the other HnG stories on my writing list, ones that were actually saved and therefore more tempting to work on.

Ouch, I hope you heal soon. I have a bruise on my knees from running up the stairs to catch the train (I got distracted and was turning to look at my friends.)

There certainly are a lot of entries up! I didn't enter, but I did get a new desynch chapter posted. I don't think I'll enter until I finish that. It's too time-consuming.

It's difficult to lose so much work. I usually post snippets up on LJ for my betas... so I suppose I might be OK if this laptop blew out.

The bruises are spectacular things: when I saw myself in the mirror this morning, I thought I hadn't managed to completely clean the pavement from my skin - but no, they were just dark-purple bruises the width of my hand wrapped around both my knees. (I too fell because I got distracted - by the big, hard lamppost in my path.)

I glanced at the entries - 52 is an absolute stunner of a number! I've clicked on a few, but I'm going to wait for a big chunk of free time to read them all in one sitting.

I think you have the right idea, concentrating on finishing the series before starting anything else (and have I mentioned how much I admire and envy your ability to regularly update?). I'm going to try to emulate you. ^^ And I think I'm going to post snippets on LJ more often, even if it's only to myself.
