Wow, it's been a long time since my last update. I've been really buried in RL and the insane amount of holiday story challenges I signed up for. The good news is I've completed and turned in entries for 3 of the 5 challenges. The bad news? ...I still have 2 left, and only a few days to go. *head-desk*

My spelling is a bit different, but the first pairing you mentioned is actually included in the list as "Yeongha/Hikaru." And out of curiosity, do you ascribe to the seme-uke writing convention of the pairings, i.e. Hikaru/Yeongha, with Hikaru as the dominant one in that relationship...?

Haha, oh wow, I'm an idiot. Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get the notification until now. And no, I don't subscribe to that convention at all. The way I order names is usually completely random, unless there's a fandom convention for one order like Harry/Draco. I like to write characters as switching most of the time anyway.

No problem. I've had problems replying to comments myself recently. :) I absolutely agree about the switching - and the whole seme/uke thing seems to have very much mellowed even in the anime fandoms, which makes everything so much more fun. ;)

Mine's not so much of a secret. I've written it. It's one of my very few het pairings and oh I wish there was more fic! <3

However... I can read Isumi/Le Ping on occasion (maaya and ai's fic comes immediately to mind here), I can see Hikaru/Mitani, and Hikaru/Waya. Akira/Waya too, though I'm not sure if that's considered a rare pair or not. Although my favorite (aside from Kaneko/Mitani)- it's not so rare anymore, due to a certain blind_go round robin- is Ogata/Isumi. *loves*

I agree. :) Kaneko and Mitani seem just made for each other - especially in the anime where the closing song sequence in the last ep show them being so cute together. It surprises me how Mitani keeps getting pairing with Akari in fanfic - almost like its fanon. And meanwhile I'm like: 'But-but- What about Kaneko??' ^^;;

ETA: Oh, and I totally understand the Ogata/Isumi love. There's just something about Isumi's...innocence? (not sure if that's the word I want) and Ogata's manipulative and (dare I say it?) despoiling edge that makes the two such an interesting pair.

And by interesting, I mean hot. *g*

Heh. I was never into Ogata/Isumi until that round robin. That totally opened my eyes to the potential of that pairing. And yes, Isumi's "innocence" (for lack of a better word) is there, but he has a bit of an edge to him too, and that really does make the pairing interesting. You know... and really hot. XD Plus they're a bit closer in age than some other pairings (and Isumi is actually legal), so it doesn't squick me like Ogata/Hikaru or Ogata/Akira. *shudders*

Haha, yeah, the age issue...^^; It seems to rear its head for me even when the story is set in the future - first impressions and all, I suppose. (...although now I'm tempted to manip a pic of an older, Hokuto-Cup-era Hikaru with Ogata, and see how that affects my feeling toward that pairing)

And you're absolutely right about that edge to Isumi. I think that's why I find Ogata/Isumi more interesting than in Ogata/Ashiwara. It's that underlying edge to the supposed uke/innocent that really intensifies the pairing dynamic.

Kaga/Mitani. While Kaga/Tsuitsui might make moar sense/is cute/etc., KagaMita has SPARKS and Mitani got SO BADLY SHAFTED. He could've been an awesome char with moar screentime/development. ): By the same token, KagaMitaTsui TOTALLY.

Oh, throw it at us! Throw it! :D We need more of these pr0ny fics for the HnG fandom - we are woefully short. *sad face*

I have a feeling though that the Yashiro/Akira/Hikaru triangle might be more of an isosceles than an equilateral - and HnG writers might have a tendency to leave poor Yashiro all by himself at the end of it. *pets Yashiro* But oh, yes, Hokuto Cup house love. ;)

To get Mitani, I'm afraid Kaga might have to first beat off Kaneko. (A Kaga vs Kaneko showdown! With Mitani as the prize. XD)

And Ogata...He really is the fandom bicycle, isn't he? *g*

I will seriously read any pairing! prove me wrong So this was really difficult. I think Hikaru/Sai gets plenty of love, at least in ff.net. And I would answer Isumi/Le Ping if not for Crossing Boundaries :D

Hmm, I think I've come across a few Hikaru/Sai-ish fics on ff.net, but none that went into it explicitly. Flirty, but not committed. owari's "Overture" was the first one I read that really got into the pairing.

And I agree - Le Ping is so very cute. :)

ETA: Crossing Boundaries really brought forth the Isumi/Le Ping love - even though I usually see Isumi in a gen light. *g*

I voted for Sai x Hikaru, and I also like Kaga x Tsutsui.

I considered putting Kaga/Tsutsui for one of the options, but I was running out of space and I think that particular pairing is one that almost fanon. When I was just reading HnG fics, I seem to come across a lot of them - if Tsutsui mentioned, chances are Kaga will be there too, usually in the more than friends way. :)
