I think I'm going friends-only. I haven't posted anything publicly in awhile, save that last question about creativity (which only got opened up after the fact to short-term Public status in case anyone preferred to comment anonymously). I'm not saying this decision is definite nor permanent; it's not even a "decision" -- something I'm actively ( Read more... )

Ya, I decided to do that - I closed all my entries up until this month. (Not that people are missing much.) Eventually I'll be in the position that I'll need to close them all up for professional reasons and it would be a pain in the ass to change 5+ years worth of entries.

Sorry I missed your call yesterday. Hope everything is going well. :)

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing that too. Because, you know, I might as well do it now instead of something happening and then really regretting not having done it sooner, and kicking myself for having thought it but not done it. Eh.

My only concern is that without having some kind of preview, how would anyone who gets linked to or stumbles across my journal know whether they would want to read the inane crap I write about or not? Maybe I'll keep a few open, and lock everything else. Still not sure about this.

Speaking of friends-only-ness, which reminds me of friends in general, you should see who's resurfaced and is now here on eljay (following a marathon phone conversation with me in which we talked for, oh, about 3.5 hours). Remember how long I'd been looking for him, finding nary a trace? Be warned, he's a little angry, but he's here. I give you eldudarino529.

That is so funny! I really hate to lose touch with that guy.

I decided to close all my old entries and just keep open the recent ones, like the last couple months. I didn't have many good ones from farther back since I had shitty internet access. I don't think that surfers really go back much farther anyway.

Yeah, I'm thinking I may employ that. We'll see what happens.

No worries, Ferol. My friends list wouldn't be as bright without you on it.
By the way, I'm making your polenta casserole for dinner tonight. Wish me luck!
