I love this so much. Beautiful writing, and this paragraph was absolutely gorgeous:
Next to him his metal paper weight lifts up, hovers, and floats slowly in the direction of the bed. A small smile tugs at Charles' lips - that paperweight began as a solid cube. So far it's been shaped into a cone, a sphere with a flat bottom, a miniature version of Michelangelo's' David, and, interestingly enough, a duck. A rather fine, detailed duck of course, but nevertheless. It made Charles smile. He enjoys walking into his bedroom to find that he has required a new ornament. It's something small, yes, but it makes him all the fonder of his friend every time he sees it.
Love the apple at the end, too. :) I hope you'll write more fics about those two!
thank you, thank you. It just seemed like such an Erik thing to do, or at least I thought so :) And you can find my other Erik/Charles fic under my Masterlist :)
This is just beautiful. I loved all of it, particularly because it's so vivid with the visuals of Erik manipulating the paperweight, as well as those lovely memories. Also, great insight into Charles' mind. Thanks for sharing!
This is really beautiful! I love the imagery of the changing ornament on Charles' desk. I can really hear the clacking of the Newton's Cradle and somehow amplifies this peaceful silence between Charles and Erik.
I just wanted to point out a few mistakes in the German. I would say, don't trust Google Translate for that, because for someone who speaks/reads German it's a bit cringe worthy. "Wir danken... fur Ihr verstandnis" should be "Danke... für dein Verständnis." "Unser einsam" works better if you say "Nur für uns" or "Es ist unsere" "Gefuden".. I assume you mean "Gefunden"? Though that translates simply to "found"
If you'd like someone to ask about German in any more fics you write, I would be happy to help :)
*winces* thank you for the corrections. *laughs* i should have known better than to google. but thanks so much! i made the changes and i would love it if I could refer to you for german later on if i decide to write more. you are wonderful to offer. :)
Ahh please don't wince! I didn't want to make you feel badly or anything... :P Absolutely, please feel free to PM me anytime-- or actually, I am quicker to respond to emails (rachel.sadoff@gmail.com)

For some reason this particular instance of Erik sculpting with his mind made me think:
Toph meets Magneto: Epic win? or EPIC-EST WIN?
