Hooray indeed! Let's see: think of the dances like apparatus at a gymnastics competition. She competes in Reel, Jig, Slip Jig, Treble Jig and Hornpipe. Then there are levels, which I suppose are like earning belts in martial arts: Beginner, then Advanced Beginner. Win a 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a dance at that level and you can move up in that dance to Novice level. Harder steps, harder competition. You have to win a 1st in Novice to move a dance up to the next level, Prizewinner, where you perform even more complex steps for more demanding judges. If you win firsts in Prizewinner, you move to Championship level, which is a whole 'nother ball of wax.
Anyway, on Saturday Bookworm won three firsts at Novice level. She's been dancing at Novice level for 2 1/2 years and while she always placed, it was generally 2nd or 3rd, so she had only moved one dance up to Prizewinner. Now, suddenly she qualifies for Prizewinner in all dances except her reel, so she is pretty excited!
Great icon and great sentiment. She hasn't come close to placing in the one dance she's been competing in on the harder level, but in time she will. Now she has 3 more to move up! Thanks for the yay!

What are her dances? How do you make them harder?
