Yep, really did it. Have been for 15 years. And will keep doing it as long as winning still feels good and losing hurts.

(That's the Scrabble part, anyway. The weight loss is slower going than I'd like.)

I've enjoyed a good game of scrabble now & then... could not imagine playing it competitively... I'm sure I'd get my tuchus handed to me! ;)

We occasionally get non-competitive players at club, and it's a mixed bag; some figure out how competitive we are and do a quiet, dignified version of "run away screaming", while others give us more of a challenge than we'd bargained for. I suspect you'd fall into the latter camp.

I used to play competitive chess and I imagine competitive scrabble is similar. good luck on your next tournament.

One major difference: there's a whole lot less luck in chess. Never let a Scrabble player get started on the bad tiles they're drawing. :)
