Who are you?

Faced with that question, what is your first reaction? How do you define yourself? It seems so easy at times: I could probably rattle off a quick description of myself in less than a minute. It would probably include things like, "I'm really just a normal guy."

I really appreciate your willingness to write this in "stream of consciousness"/prose/poetry. It has a sense of authenticity about it and also a wonderful rhythm. Great job! :)

Thanks! Admittedly, it's not my strongest style, but part of the point of this competition (at least for me) is to stretch myself as a writer, and this seemed like a good place for it. (Plus, when I heard the topic, I really wanted to incorporate the song.)

I hope to be brave an stretch myself as I learn more about myself as well, as a person. It isn't easy, but I loved the words of wisdom you gave in this entry... Embrace yourself, had a great ending to it. I am not the type to get into poetry so much, as it is a hard language or me to get into, but the way you woven it with images about yourself and the advice you gave to others worked quite well in this instance.
