I removed any friends who I have added on Dreamwidth already to filter out any cross-posts and double reading. My plan right now is to stay here for some communities and to keep up with those people who haven't moved, but I will primarily be posting on Dreamwidth since the majority of my friends have moved there

Why is everyone moving to dreamwidth?

There was a huge scare that we might either not have access to LJ or that it would be gone completely because of current events, so everyone decided to leave. I moved because all but five or so active friends on here have moved over, and it's hard for me to consistently keep up with both places.

The situation right now was my first thought but we’ve had scares before since lj became a Russian-owned company so I didn’t know for sure. I can also understand why some people would willingly move to dreamwidth as their own form of protest and also because of what would or wouldn’t be allowed as content anymore.

Yeah, I remember the last big scare we had in 2017, and I lost some friends to it but this time it's almost ALL of my friends who moved, either because of the scare or for protest reasons. I don't blame anyone who jumped ship, but it's hard to stay and maintain accounts on both, so I'll probably eventually be completely moved over there.

I'm still on the fence. LJ is the place I have ab attachment to, but I totally get people leaving. I have a DW set up as a 'just in case', mind you.

I'll primarily be on lj unless it ever actually shuts down. I plan on manually posting my entries on dw just for back up.
