I was giving my details over the phone today, and spelling out a tricky word when I totally forgot the NATO phonetics and was reduced to "G for ...um,.. Gandalf" The guy on the phone thankfully thought this was hilarious, and we agreed that H for Hobbits and A for Aragorn would also be improvements on the standard system.

Best one I ever heard was speaking to BT and they came out with "N for... um... Nazi."

And right after that did the line mysteriously go dead and someone-else, "not "Bob" at all, I just sound a bit like him, nut I'm totally not, no", had to call you back?
