If you havent been changing your eating habits and not much more exercise than usual then I would call the dr. Its probably nothing...I mean you can lose 15 lbs in 2 months easily but that is usually when you are actually watching what you eat and working out. You are getting old now your metabolism is supposed to slow down not speed up. Or maybe watch it for another month and if you drop anymore call a Dr. Your body may just eb changing it happens. I lost weight around your age (not that much in that amt of time i dont think ) but one day I noticed I was 10 lbs lighter than I had been for no reason. Then I gained it back ..now its gone again but on purpose! If it makes you feel better call the Dr. Better to be safe than sorry. ~ Carol

seeing as there is a family history of cancer in your family it wouldn't hurt to have your body checked out. It could be a number of things changing in your body, from metabolism to something wondk with you thyroid. BUT for now try to enjoy your success! I'm so proud of you, you've lost so much in the last year. (not to mention completely envious) :-)

Wouldn't you just feel foolish for being envious if I have a wasting disease?

Ask for a coeliac test - it is a blood test part of the regular panels. When I first got it I lost tons of weight cause basically you don't absorb nutrients any more and the symptoms of getting it are so varied. Plus now I think they do it as part of a simple blood test panel (along with cholesterol, blood sugar, etc).
I hope that is what it turns out to be cause the 'cure' is simple, avoid wheat, sometimes a pain in the butt, but it is so much easier now than 10 yrs ago!

Is that like a wheat allergy or something? Man that would suck -- I love wheat bread!

It could just be that you're getting just enough more exercise to kick your metabolism into a higher gear and burn off some leftover baby weight, but I'd still get checked just in case. A friend of mine from high school dropped a lot of weight for no apparent reason and it turned out she had diabetes, so that's another potential explanation. Still sucks, but not as bad as cancer.

Yeah, i thought about that too -- and considering my coffee/soda IV it might not be a bad assumption.

15 pounds in two months DOES seem like a lot, so your mother isn't crazy. I'm not toooo toooo worried, but I'm glad you're going to the doctor anyway.
