*And Mello has to get in.

After he leaves the room and storms down the hallway, he habitually reaches for his rosary--

And it's not fucking there.

He'd been sleeping, so he'd left the beds on his bedside dresser... and of course he hadn't thought to grab them, in his panic. And he needed them.

He really doesn't want to go back there, go back and face Near again... not that that thing was Near, but. But he needs his rosary.

It takes a while, because he keeps putting it off, but after a couple of days he finds himself standing in front of the bedroom door again. Not having his rosary to grab at is driving him nuts. So he takes a deep breath and draws his gun.

It's not that big a deal. Just an undead rival.

And he opens the door, just a crack.*

*The door collides with him almost instantly, and he squeaks, and skitters under the bed, not relishing the idea of being shot again. As much as he can have ideas, like this.*

Out. Get out, Near, now. Right now.

*His voice is harsh and commanding, going the rest of the way into the room, his gun out and aimed at the bed.*

Now.

*He's making his way to the dresser.*
