I think that they are never not intimate, so even when they are pretending to be in a huff, they're each other's best friends.
Ah, Amy, you win at life.

And I disagree with it being declared a Grey's-like romance. On Grey's, people are falling into bed with each other left, right and centre. The only ones who were friends, first and foremost, were George and Izzie and look at what a disaster that turned out to be.

But Cooper and Violet are each other's "person", more like Meredith and Cristina - although obviously with a romantic undercurrent. ;) And it makes it uniquely them. Which, for me, trumps all the Grey's ships!
