Silence is consent.

So frighteningly true.
I find it extremely disconcerting whenever I read about Holocaust deniers. The simple fact that they can smugly assert that something so singularly momentous, hideous and downright evil never happened sends chills down my spine.

I just barely got to skim the newspaper today, but apparently, Mel Gibson is back-pedaling as fast as he can, in order to ingratiate himself with everyone he insulted. I agree, I hope he's discredited and personally, I will never go to a film that he has anything to do with, even if he's in charge of craft services.

I could say more, but I don't think it would make any sense. I spent a good part of my afternoon with some people who'd never heard of Mary, Queen of Scots and I ended up doing an impromptu history lecture.

Thanks for that article.

The more I read, the more I realize that there are hundreds of tiny pieces of singular moments that together make this very compelling mosaic. Where does this hatred come from? What is it about the Jews that have made them such a target for EVERYONE? It boggles my mind that one group should have to carry that weight of hatred on their shoulders. Why did people look away? Worse yet, why did people JOIN IN? All these things...
