I adore early Season 1 fics and this one was fantastic!

I love that everything was from John's POV and especially the waking up in the beginning was so, so, so great!

Wow, good job. I really felt for Bates, having such a tough decision to make. And Teyla, feeling helpless, not a light we see her in very often. I enjoyed the "newness" of the relationships and the already developing closeness of John and Teyla.
