[There's a sound like choking or retching before the Doctor's voice is heard across the phone. He sounds distant and disoriented.]

Still have legs. That's good, I like having legs, long legs, still tall. That's good, tall is good. Am I ginger yet?

[He groans and the sound of him shifting comes across the phone.]No, still not ginger... In fact ( Read more... )

[Oh, he caught that part about going through death, Doctor, and you bet he'll be bringing that up again. But there are more important things now.]

They've been hitting and destroying random houses, along with everyone inside, it seems. As for the falling apart . . . you'd be surprised at how easily humans crumble in the face of personal danger. Or maybe you wouldn't.

[I hate you, but the Doctor inhales deeply before he speaks]

...How many houses?

Of course they do. It's humanity's greatest weakness, doesn't mean I can't try to make them act better than that.

I've been a bit too busy to keep count, but from what I could gather from the phone calls, at least four or five. They've been killing anyone they catch outside, too.

Good luck with your efforts, then. I'll be interested to see how well they go. The town's already been split into those who want to turn Sergei in and those who don't.

...I see.

And that's what they were planning on and of course everyone stupidly falls into it.

[He tries to sound angry but comes across as exhausted]

Fifteen houses have been destroyed so far. No survivors have been found in the aftermath, though escape might have been possible, if the residents were not on the premise at the time of attack.

...I see. Well, that's all very not good.

No, and the lack of permanency in death is of little solace. Are you alright, sir? I may offer healing, if you are still injured anywhere.

Fine, just a bit ill from the effects.

We can't allow them to throw us in a state of panic.

coolbowtie October 27 2010, 05:40:43 UTC
No, absolutely not, we need to prevent that at all costs.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to completely gauge everyone's reactions to the current situation.

Of course, everyone is going to be foolish because that's how humans tend to be under stress. We need calm, we need to make everyone as calm as possible.

[chaos will be swinging by after a time, looking for whoever happens to be there and alive. Spotting the Doctor, he'll move over to him.]

Are you injured?

[The Doctor shakes his head slightly before cringing]

I'm fine.

[chaos notices the cringe, his face barely changing]

I somehow doubt that. Where is the injury?

Not really an injury just... feeling rather ill.

Is anywhere truly safe here?

[She's doing her best to not sound shaken....but she died. And she's not really sure how to deal with that.]

No, probably not, but hopefully they won't strike the same place twice. So the best you can do is watch out for yourself.
