East Attic, Saturday Night

After handwavily checking out of the clinic, Piper returned to the East Attic. Being back in her own bed is a good thing. Drugs that make pain go away? Even better.

And her sisters were safe. That was the most important thing of all. She still had to think of something to tell Grams, but that would have to wait.

Piper planned to sleep for a week.

Veronica walked into her room after breaking up with Logan, wiping away a stray tear. She was kind of glad that neither of her roommates would be around tonight. It would give her a chance to cry in private and put on a brave face tomorrow.

Piper wandered out into the common area when she heard the door. She thought maybe Chloe had returned early. Instead, she found Veronica on the couch.

"Oh, hey Veronica. I got released from the clinic early..." She trailed off when she realized her friend was crying. She had a pretty good idea of why Veronica was upset.

Veronica rubbed her eyes and attempted a weak smile. "That's great," she said. "I'm glad you're feeling better."

Piper sat beside Veronica and immediately hugged her. "I'm so sorry."
